REFLECTION :B

This trip wasn't as tough as i thought. Past two years, we had matches&everything properly organised. But this time, we got to depend on th weather. We got to stop when th rain gets heavier. Remember one of th days, we had a match during th noon. Th sun is right above our head, i could feel how i used to be training back then.

Th players there were much more aggressive during th play& also sportsmanship. We should learn this from them,

Reflection by BELLA! 8)

This year's malaysia trip was not as wondrous as last year's. No trainings everyday, but matches. From all th matches, I guess I've learnt that I still need more rooms for improvement. Th malaysia players are very aggressive from how they played during th matches. Not just their attitude in court, and also outside court- What happened in th court, will be erased after they walked out of th court. I guess I've to learn more from them- their attitude in and out of court. They were all friendly people!:D I hope to play against them again next time, and I hope that I'll improve th next time when I'm competing against them.

My roommates- Anna & Xiaofen, they were very good towards me.:) I don't need to worry about any single thing when they're around, cause they'll remind me always. I like them!:B After my ice bath, anna prepared a cup of hot water for me to drink. See how caring she was eh?^^ Every night, I'm not afraid that I'll go hungry, cause they always bought my share. Even at night when I'm fast asleep without my blankets on, anna will check on me. Hahahahahahz, please be jealous that I have this kind of good seniors!;)

Th orphanage trip was quite fun, I clean th office and saw a lizard. But after awhile, th lizard ran away. LOL! Played with one of th kid, and he's very cute. Whole team sang song to them, and I think they're satisfied. Seeing th smiles on their faces, made us feel happy too. Although th place was abit too squeezy for hundred over people, but I guess as long as we'd helped them, we'll feel comfortable too. Th cultural trip on th last day was totally boring... Hope next year will be a better one, ciaoz. HAHA!

This trip to malaysia, we do not have much trainings but match. we usually have trainings in the afternoon and matches at night for the past few years. i have learnt that leadership wasnt an easy task at all. i think that it is an important role in the team as well as being a good example for all. for the first two days, i did not do my job well as most of the things wasnt done by me but carissa. the next three days, i did my job with some helps here and there as carissa was told to be silent. during those matches, everyone fight for the ball even if the weather is hot or the court is slippery. watching the match was meaningful as it shows how skillful players plays with the agressive players. and it turns out that the skillful players won. this trip have given me a chance to gain new experiences of being a leader.

Reflection by Kristle.

It was actually my first time to go in Malaysia and it’s a great experience for me to go to another country other than Singapore and Philippines. At first, I really didn’t know how Malaysia looks like until I’ve seen it. The experience has really altered my perspective on people, food, life and environment. I have learned to appreciate what I have in Singapore and I realized that not all people are as lucky as me.

Each and every single day of my stay in Malaysia was memorable. I have learned a lot of things that I didn’t expect to learn. I encountered different experiences with different people of different races. For me, having all those matches was the most memorable experience of the entire trip. Even if the opponents were strong, we managed to fight as a team, to endure as a team and to accept defeat as a team. It was also a great bonding experience not only for us but also for the other teams as well.

When we visited the orphanage, at first I was scared and curious because I don’t know how it was like to be there. But when I saw the place, the people and how they live.. I didn’t know what kind of feeling I felt. Pity, thankful, happy, sad, excited, shocked or what… :D After cleaning the place, I was overwhelmed knowing that in my own little ways, I have helped people like them. I was thankful that God gave me the opportunity to help them. I also felt that I’m lucky. Then again, I appreciated what I have.

In one of those days we watched a film or movie about Michael Jordan. The film was very inspiring and motivational especially for us, basketball players, to work hard to succeed like him.

After all, I realized my strengths and my weaknesses. Even if there were a lot of mistakes made, at least we were willing to make up for it. :D I’m also thankful for the experience that sometime in my life, I’ve encountered a trip like this. Without this trip, my journey in basketball this year wouldn’t be complete. :)

The trip to Malacca was fun and memorable, as I get to have a chance to play basketball with people from other country. We didn’t do well during the match on the first day, but we improved in the following match. After this trip I appreciate with what I have in Singapore, as there is no sheltered court for us to play in so most of the matches are cancelled due to the rain.
I was not really use to the food served there as it was way too spicy for me but the chendol was nice, and it was served most of the time. I will never forget the two recycle of ice bath! But compared to the ice bath we had in school it was better. Although, I wished to end as fast as possible during the trip, because I really missed my bed but after we had left I start to miss the trip.
I had a great time during this trip as I get to go overseas with my friend and our friendship is getting stronger, I’m really looking forward to the trip next year! ^v^
